How we can help
We wanted to develop a service that provided specialist knowledge and experience in the field. We understand that parenthood is often a time of mixed emotion-it can be a joyful experience, but also can bring up difficult feelings of sadness, confusion and fear. We wanted to create a service where these sensitive and difficult topics could be explored in a warm,welcoming and secure place.
We can offer short, medium or long term psychological therapy to both men and women.
Some of the difficulties we work with are:
Infertility, loss and bereavement
Adjustment to parenthood
Childhood difficulties/trauma that have impacted on you and your parenting journey
Difficulties in connecting emotionally with your baby
Difficulties with managing intense emotions and distress
Maternal Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Anxiety & Postnatal Depression
Couples/family work related to parenthood

How it works
After you have made contact, we will offer a free 15 minute phone consultation. This will be a chance to have a brief discussion about what your current difficulties are and how we may be able to support you. If we are the right service for you, we will offer you an initial assessment.
This takes places between 1 and 3 sessions.
We then create a formulation to make sense of your situation, your current difficulties and how these might have developed.
Together we will define a treatment plan which will have your hopes and goals at the centre of it.
